Megan Proulx Dempsey
Megan Proulx Dempsey, a Brandon resident, is a Business Development Manager for Duke Energy Florida making the world cleaner one solar project at a time. She leads land acquisition and development of utility scale solar installations – from project siting, selection, and study through to construction.
For 22 years, she practiced commercial real estate law, as a Partner at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, and was Senior Corporate Counsel at TECO Energy before joining Shumaker.
Megan earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Tampa and received her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law.
As a long-term gubernatorial appointee and the past chair of the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County, Megan continues to advocate for the health and safety of children and families. In 2025, Megan will serve as the President of Commercial Real Estate Women’s Tampa Bay Chapter.
