SUMMARY:Safe Baby Training for Providers (In-person at the Children's Board)
DESCRIPTION:Safe Baby Training prepares professional to prevent infant deaths. The training is highly recommended for all staff of CBHC funded agencies.Safe Baby trainings are provided by the Healthy Start Coalition of Hillsborough County to prepare professionals to teach families how to prevent infant deaths by educating them on how to choose a safe caregiver\, prevent Shaken Baby Syndrome and follow safe sleep practices as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Participants will also learn about the dangers of distracted parenting. Safe Baby is generously funded by: Children’s Board of Hillsborough County. 1.5 hours credit is offered for case managers as outlined by the Florida Certification Board (FCB): BEHAVORIAL HEALTH: • Master’s Level Certified Addiction Professional • Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) • Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) • Certified Behavioral Health Case Manager • Certified Behavioral Health Case Manager Supervisor (CBHCMS) • Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT) • Certified Gambling Addiction Counselor (CGAC) • Certified Prevention Professional (CPP) • Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) • Certified Mental Health Professional (CMHP) • Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) • Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) • Certified Recovery Residence Administrator • Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist (CTTS) Supervisor (CBHCMS) CHILD WELFARE: • Certified Child Welfare Case Manager (CWCM) • Certified Child Welfare Licensing Counselor • Certified Child Welfare Protective Investigator PHYSICAL HEALTH: • Certified Community Health Worker (CCHW) • Child Protection Team Medical Provider Continuing Education Hours (1.5) offered by AHEC include: • Nursing • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) • Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) • Dietician • Lactation Specialist • Psychology • Speech Therapy\, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy • Child Care Provider
