Do you get tongue tied or flustered with an upset program participant that leaves you both upset? Do you dread having a conversation with a client/customer that might have unpleasant consequences? Do you frequently avoid confronting a co-worker, boss, family member or friend for fear of saying something wrong? If you answered yes to at least one of these questions, consider attending this workshop.
Attendees will:
Discuss what makes conversations difficult when tensions are high and how to utilize techniques to get to the interests of the parties involved in the conflict.
Develop tools to de-escalate conflict and remain future focused.
Examine language, dealing with destructive speech, ground rules, and managing strong emotions.
Practice raising and clarifying the issues, gathering information within difficult conversations, as well as enhancing problem-solving skills.
